VOLUNTEER

Canadaid offers several ways for Canadians to get involved directly with our work. Volunteer opportunities cover a broad range of programs and needs, and can take place from your home or church or from one of our offices.

Be a Canadaid Awareness Builder

How can you support Canadian Association for International Aid beyond opening your wallet?

Become an Awareness Builder in your community and help share Canadaid’s story! Canadaid’ would value your help in making presentations, sharing information about new Canadaid programs and keeping us in touch with your community.

We occasionally hold Awareness Builder workshops about Canadaid in congregations across the country. Watch this page for announcements!

Canadaid has a small staff headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with two regional offices in Waterloo and Vancouver that manage our refugee program. Administration expenses make up a small portion of the Canadaid operating budget, which means donations are used effectively to make a difference in the world.

But it also means we have a limited capacity to make ourselves known to Canadians. That’s where our Awareness Builders – and you – come in.

By volunteering as an Awareness Builder and sharing Canadaid information with your community, you help us save financial resources for actual aid and development. You also serve as an important way for feedback to get back to us from your own community, so that we can improve our communication and education materials.

As an Awareness Builder you would assist Canadaid by

Making presentations to groups in your community using resources Canadaid provides

Helping organize Canadaid events in your church, school or community

Writing about the work of Canadaid for your local newspaper

Relaying feedback from your community to Canadaid
